I am proud and honored to be a family history blogger — sharing my ancestors’ stories over the past two years to preserve them for future generations.

But I am also humbled by the breadth of research and eloquent online prose shared by thousands of intrepid and creative genealogy bloggers — many of whom have been at this much longer than I have.

So imagine my delight when one of those genealogy bloggers — Michelle Ganus Taggart of A Southern Sleuth and the MIITY Team — reached out to interview me for the GeneaBloggers series on family history bloggers.

When May I Introduce To You…Molly Charboneau appeared yesterday on Thomas MacEntee’s GeneaBloggers website, I felt warmly welcomed and embraced by the genealogy blogging community — and inspired to keep going as I celebrate my Second Blogiversary on April 24.

When sitting at a computer tapping out heartfelt heritage stories, it’s easy to wonder whether you are striking the right note, painting a true-to-life portrait of an ancestor, accurately describing your forbears’ place in history — or sharing the best techniques, advice and sources to help others find their roots.

Being interviewed for GeneaBloggers conveyed to me the reassuring message that my peers in the genealogy blogging community are able to connect with my ancestors’ stories on Molly’s Canopy — and that makes all the difference.
