Yes! Almost there!

Letter Y: Twenty-fifth of twenty-six posts in the April 2016 Blogging From A to Z Challenge. Wish me luck and please join me as I cross the finish line!

Yes! One more day and Molly’s Canopy will cross the finish line of the April 2016 Blogging From A to Z Challenge — to the roar of a virtual crowd and the sound of imaginary hands clapping (or tapping, as they finish up that last challenge post)!

Fireworks. Yes! Tomorrow I will make it to the end of my first April 2016 Blogging From A to Z Challenge, crossing the finish line with the Zinsk family — my Swiss ancestors. By: Nigel Howe

Now that I am nearly there, I confess that I did not do the sort of pre-challenge preparation one should do before a marathon — even missing the Theme Reveal.

Because it was my first time blogging from A to Z — and I only decided at the last minute to accept the challenge — when the flag went down on April 1, I wondered if I would be just an April fool or make it all the way to the end.

So I sprinted through week one, getting a bit winded and sleep deprived. Then I settled down during week two for the long haul — writing and commenting and meeting new bloggers as I went.

And that turned out to be the best approach — even allowing me some spare time to weigh in at the weekly #azchat on Twitter to see how others were doing.

Tomorrow I will dash across the finish line — hand in hand with the Zinsk family (my Swiss ancestors) — to round out my theme of Ancestors From A to Z.

But today I just want to enjoy the feeling of knowing that I am almost there and Yes! I will finish.

Up next: Swiss family Zinsk. Please stop back for my challenge finale.

  1. Hands clapping Down Under!! You’ve done a great job and yes, that first challenge is an exercise is learning isn’t it?

  2. Satisfying to be almost done, and congrats on being a blogger who accepted the challenge last minute and managed to keep up. It’s tough – the posting is only part of the challenge, the blog hopping is the other part of the challenge. Great job! Maui Jungalow

    1. That means a lot coming from a fellow challenge blogger! I’m still getting caught up on blog hopping. Had a wonderful time visiting yours and congrats on reaching Z.

  3. It’s my first time doing the challenge too! I am so happy this month has passed and I successfully completed the challenge. I signed up early but then I procrastinated and didn’t get any posts scheduled. My husband was consulting in Chile the first week of April so I took advantage of that and pre-scheduled the posts for the hardest letters.

I just scheduled my Z day post about an hour ago.

Congrats on successfully finishing the challenge! It’s a pretty big deal.

    1. Thanks, Shelly, same to you! Happy to have completed my first challenge successfully, particularly given my impulsive start. Thanks so much for stopping by throughout 🙂

  4. My first time too, and I also missed the reveal. I wasn’t sure I would finish, but it has been great. Some adventures, some laughs, some nice comments on my posts from fellow bloggers – let me just say the challenge was my saving grace this month.
And let me say also – no one will guess my Z hehehe!

    1. Congrats on completing the challenge, and you’re right — I would not have guessed your letter Z! Thanks for your visits and comments; great getting to know you and learning about your blog, which I will visit in the future.

  5. It’s the 30th here in Australia, I have posted and now checking out others blogs and comments. Yes the “rush” of energy was a good part of the torture. If I join in next time I will try to get more posts ready to avoid the night before rush though.

    1. Now I am officially across the finish line! Congrats on completing the challenge, and thanks for visiting and commenting. I follow you on Bloglovin’ so I look forward to your Reflections post and many other informative posts in the future 🙂

  6. Yes you are nearly finished. It was my first time too. Looking forward to the ZZZZZZZzzzzzz when it is over.

    1. I’m with you there! Though will miss the frenetic energy, part of me is also looking forward to life beyond the finish line.
